Duties:
- Work closely with private credit administration team to develop departmental procedures.
- Assist in the design and implementation of credit accounting workflows including the standardization of reconciliation items (for example: cash reconciliation, income reconciliation, etc.)
- Oversee the monthly and quarterly close for private credit funds, including preparation and review of the general ledger, trial balance, and supporting schedules;
- Review and approve accounting for loan originations, purchases, sales, and paydowns, including trade date vs. settle date considerations where applicable;
- Oversee the calculation and recording of interest income, paid-in-kind (PIK) income, original issue discount (OID)/premium accretion, and amortization
- Review portfolio valuations in accordance with fund policies and applicable accounting guidance, including review of third-party pricing, credit marks, and internal valuation models;
- Review borrowing base reporting and lender compliance deliverables where funds utilize subscription lines, warehouse facilities, or leverage structures;
- Understand and interpret fund governing documents (LPA, credit agreements, side letters)
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, administrators, and internal stakeholders, providing timely responses and proactive issue resolution;
- Lead and develop a team through coaching, performance management, and technical training initiatives; drive standardization, process improvements, and automation;
- Manage audit and tax engagements by coordinating PBC requests
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in private credit/credit funds, alternative investments, fund accounting, or related financial services;
- 7+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development;
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA/MSA) preferred;
- CPA license strongly preferred;
- Strong technical knowledge of private credit instruments and related accounting concepts (e.g., interest accruals, PIK, OID/premium, amortized cost vs. fair value
- Experience with fund structures involving leverage (e.g., subscription lines, warehouse facilities) and related reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HFPM or other fund accounting/loan servicing systems is a plus;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client deliverables, prioritize deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting professionally with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
