Job SummarySt. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is seeking a skilled IBEW Electrician to support the safe, reliable operation of all electrical systems across the hospital campus. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical infrastructure in a complex healthcare environment where system reliability is critical to patient care.
The electrician will work on normal and emergency power systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and healthcare regulations while minimizing disruption to clinical operations. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to perform work in sensitive, occupied areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in critical power systems, including emergency generators and transfer switches
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical infrastructure to ensure continuous operation
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, including NFPA and OSHA standards
- Coordinate work to minimize impact on patient care areas
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and system status

QualificationsEducation Requirements
- Vocational/Technical Degree - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Vocational/Technical Degree
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program
- Experience working in healthcare, commercial, or other mission-critical facilities
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards
- Familiarity with emergency power systems
- Understanding of healthcare compliance standards and inspection processes
